I have friends far and wide, and I don't think any of them understands that connection to other people the way we Mississippians do.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15625783.post-82251916912752939362008-12-19T11:25:00.000-06:002008-12-19T11:25:00.000-06:00Are you sure you didn't mean Texas instead of Miss...Are you sure you didn't mean Texas instead of Mississippi? Around my church we always refer to Texas as the Promised Land. The night my wife and I spent in Jackson on our way to Graceland kinda reminded us of that other place the bible talks about. :-)

Alan Temple
Southside Presbyterian
Corpus Christi, TXAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15625783.post-2458100600115876102008-12-18T00:38:00.000-06:002008-12-18T00:38:00.000-06:00Lovely post. When I didn't live there, we always went back for holidays when I was growing up. Even though I now live elsewhere, I continue to meet people who I can connect with through my time in that wonderful state. My husband even went to a military training school in Germany & came back having become friends with a guy who turned out to be someone I went to church with years before in MS. Only one of many stories I could tell...Thanks again.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
